Welcome to the performative guided tour, Made in Ringön! This photographic series invites you to wander through the ever-changing landscape of Ringön, an island filled with workshops, small businesses, scrapyards and secrets. Installed close to where they were taken, each image offers a doorway into a narrative that blends fact and fiction, industry and myth. The figure with the coloured bag over its head is waiting there ready to be encountered again. Follow the images on the map and listen to the corresponding audio recordings. Let them guide you, confuse you and contradict you. At one location, you will be invited to complete a short documentation task. Consider it both evidence and invention: your own trace within Ringön. Take your time to experience Ringön from a dystopian yet humorous perspective, where doors don’t always lead where they promise and even the bridge may start whispering back.

As you may have become a new person, you are invited to document your new look. Therefore, I kindly ask you to do a documentation exercise with your fellow. If you are alone, try to find someone in the group or even on the street. The exercise involves one person putting the bag (from your bag) over his or her head and finding a position at the wall while the other person takes images with the smartphone. Once you are done, you switch the roles. After that, you choose one image and post it on a social media platform you have access to, with the title “Made in Ringön” (please also tag me @nathaliefari as I am curious to see your image). The whole exercise should not take longer than 10 minutes.
