This photographic series explores the peculiar and layered landscape of Ringön in Gothenburg. Facing the Göta River, Ringön is an industrial area where small-scale businesses, ranging from waste recycling to car repair workshops and boat retail, coexist with a growing creative scene. To create a sense of both contrast and camouflage within this landscape, Nathalie positioned her body at various locations. With her face concealed beneath a brightly coloured bag, she aimed to conjure dystopian scenes, always remaining in the same position against backdrops ranging from a landfill site to a stone hill and a rooftop.

As part of the GIGBA Extended’s program, Nathalie will offer a guided performative tour through the environment that shaped the series.
